The A2 Air Force Military Bomber
The A-2 Air Force is the standby of flying men. W.W.II aces lament ever having turned theirs in. It\'s a great jacket that can be worn at a business meeting, the movies or soaring through the clouds. It differs from the Navy G-1 in that it has a plain one-piece back. (Sometimes it must have a seam with the small lamb skins.) It has smart epaulets. Both the collar and the pocket flaps have hidden snaps. The front of the jacket has an outside wind flap that conceals the zipper. Our knit ribbing is top quality and if you want to order one size larger than your sports coat size you won\'t find the waistband hanging slack. Outside pockets have hidden side entry. (We can close them on request.) San Diego Leather is just about the only company that goes to the trouble of giving the A2 inside pockets—one gun pocket and one breast pocket. It is available in Cowhide, Goatskin, Brushed Lamb and Italian Lamb and Now Deerskin! The Lambs are tanned to be soft and natural and are ideal for casual and dress wear but not long wearing. The Deerskin is equally soft but very long wearing. This is the military sizing that has not changed since WWII and we suggest going one up from your regular jacket size for a typical fit and buying even larger for a loose fit. | Cowhide Dark Brown or Black is tanned is the most durable. It is supple and long wearing and natural and makes a very nice jacket. It is the leather many commuter airlines choose Goatskin Dark Brown or Black is very simillar with more texture vintage look because that was the leather used in WWII for the Navy Flight Jacket. It is long wearing but slightly lighter. Comes in Regular Sizes and Longs and it is possible to order a Short. Sometimes because of smaller skins the back panel cannot be one-piece. Brushed Lamb Tan or Chocolate is a vintage look, like the smooth leather has worn down to suede. It takes 6-7 hides and no two jacket look alike. |
